My Next Tablet found the MediaPad M5 Lite 8 to deliver fantastic performance for its price point, packing a good quality HD screen, decent battery life and octa-core processor into its all-metal body. Android Pie is included, although comes customised by Huawei which may not be to everyone’s taste and it also uses an old micro USB slot as opposed to USB-C which you would expect to see as standard. It’s competitive price, however, makes it a very attractive option as a mid-range tablet.

8 /10
Notebook Check found the MediaPad M5 Lite 8 to exist in the slightly tricky spot between smartphone and tablet, with it particularly heavy compared with the average smartphone - and also not including an earpiece for making calls. On the other hand, 8 inches isn’t a very large screen for a tablet. Overall Notebook Check gave the M5 Lite 8 a reasonable score, but not one that would make it a recommended product.

7 /10
PC Mag described the MediaPad M5 Lite 8 as a good mid-range Android tablet, although said it is far from perfect and only gave it a middling score. Highlights included a good build quality, solid screen, long battery life and good audio, but a set of fairly unimpressive specs, poor cameras and a reduced selection of apps when compared with an iPad drag the score down.

Exceptional product
Absolutely no lag, top specs and a treat to use. Perfect for anyone looking for full HD and more than 2 gigs of RAM. Screen size makes it ideal for reading. Worth the buy.

Excellent tablet with a great screen
If you want an android tablet that is quick and responsive, with an excellent screen, then look no further. The one hardware niggle - the charging port is USB-micro ("old" style rather than the newer USB-c that can be plugged in either way round) and placed at the bottom rather than the side or top. That aside, you won't be disappointed. Quality and performance far exceed that of a well known online retailers top end own brand tablet.

Good allrounder
I originally bought a Samsung Tab A which is a bit cheaper, but I found the display on the Samsung to be pretty dismal and it was hard on the eyes, so bad it may have been faulty. I returned it and got the Huawei as a replacement. This has a vastly superior screen and performs as well as or perhaps better than the Samsung. I would rate the Mediapad M5 Lite 8 as a very good product at a reasonable price.

Almost Great
Good performance, reasonable considering it's not a high-end tablet. The RAM lets you multitask quite easily. Only 32GB storage means it's short on storage. Can expand the memory, not exactly sure how well it will work. Problems connecting to my laptop, using drag and drop features like my Android phone (Nokia 8) can do. Sound Quality is good love STEREO. Screen is very good too. Massive letdown for me is the micro USB charging port instead of a USB C charging port that is in most new phones.

No usb 2
Specs state there is a usb2 socket,no usb2 only mini usb. Also there is no setting to use a magnetic sleep function, I would still recommend this tablet nevertheless
