This laptop stand from Bakker Elkhuizen provides a comfortable work station while also folding down into a slim sheet, perfect for sliding into a laptop bag and then using wherever you need it. It’s well made and looks premium enough to use with any laptop, making it a fantastic choice if you need a stand that you can take with you.
Laptops are great for a lot of things like convenience and easy storage, but using them for an extended period of time can be uncomfortable and cause long-term posture problems. Having the screen so low and cramped together with the keyboard encourages unnatural positions which can not only give you a crick in the neck but also contribute to conditions like repetitive strain injury.
A laptop stand helps prevent this by raising the screen to eye level so you don’t find yourself hunching over the screen and giving yourself a bad back.
You will need a keyboard and mouse to connect to the laptop as the angled keyboard will be very hard to use, but this again will promote better habits when it comes to using the laptop in a comfortable way.
The Ergo-Q 260 is made from Hylite aluminium which gives it a real premium look and means your laptop won’t look out of place, whether it’s made from black plastic or aluminium. This also gives it strength, so despite all the pieces being exceptionally thin and light, it still feels very sturdy and you can be confident your laptop is secure in the stand.
We thought the best part of this stand is the fact that it can fold down completely flat to the size of an A4 sheet of paper. This means it will fit into pretty much any laptop bag and the aluminium build means it won’t add a lot of weight – making it perfect for mobile workers.
In front of the stand is an integrated document holder so you can prop up printed copies that you might be working from. This means you won’t have to turn your head to read while typing, making it a lot more comfortable to copy or work from a hard copy. This document holder also folds down giving you access to the keyboard if you need it.
If there is a sticking point for us it is the price, as at a little over £100, it is far from cheap. It isn’t hard to find a lot of options of stands that are cheaper, although none of these will offer the same level of portability and many aren’t made from the same quality of materials.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a stand that will stay at home we’d suggest looking at cheaper options. However, if you want something that you can slide into a laptop bag and take with you, this is the one.
The Ergo-Q 260 is an excellent laptop stand, made from premium materials, which folds down to a light and slim size, perfect for taking with you in a laptop bag. Despite the fact it is so portable it still offers a secure and steady workstation, worthy of any fixed laptop stand. It doesn’t come cheap, but it is a fantastic product.
